Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC)

About TISC

Technology and Innovation Support Centres (TISCs) are designed by World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) to provide innovators in developing countries with access to locally based, high quality technology information services and other related services. TISC office was established at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) on 9th Nov 2017 with collaboration of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Switzerland, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan and Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan under Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC).

Objectives

Primary objective of TISC network is to promote the use of patent information among the researchers, entrepreneurs, IP mangers, attorneys, government officials and policy makers by making national and international intellectual property databases accessible to them. These centers will also act as one stop shop for IP related services. This will help to reduce the technical and scientific knowledge gap between developing and least-developed WIPO member countries.
